finetone music is an independent record label that was founded in 1999 by musicians and composers Peter Schindler and Peter Lehel as well as musician and lawyer Wolfgang Schindhelm. The company is based in Pforzheim .

The label produces music from the fields of jazz, classical and crossover. The label uses a large part of the catalog with the music of the two co-owners Peter Schindler and Peter Lehel; these include their formations SaltaCello , Peter Lehel Quartet, Pipes & Phones, Hoppel Hoppel Rhythm Club - jazz for children . In addition, albums by Herbert Joos and Klaus Graf were released. In addition, finetone offers a platform for young musicians such as the pianist Kristjan Randalu , who presented his first three publications at finetone . But also artists from the classical world like the two clarinetists Sabine Meyer and Wolfgang Meyer and the trombonist Henning Wiegränke published on the label.

The company was awarded the German Record Critics' Prize twice; 2000 the album Suites by Pipes & Phones and 2006 the album Hoppel Hoppel Rhythm Club - Jazz for children .
