Finnova (registered as finnova AG Bankware ) is a Swiss company specializing in banking software, based in Lenzburg .

The standard solution Finnova Banking Software was completed in 2003 after the company had been developing software applications for the financial industry since 1974 . Finnova occupies an important position in Switzerland and is one of around 20 network partners of the cantonal banks .

In terms of the number of banks (approx. 100 universal and private banks ), the company has held the largest share in the Swiss market for banking software since 2009. In terms of the number of bank employees, Finnova holds the second largest market share with 18%, after its competitor Avaloq with 42%.

history

The first application called FIS was developed in 1974, and the FIS user bank pool was launched in the early 1980s. Finis AG was founded in 1999 and begins developing a modular overall banking solution. The standard solution Finnova Banking Software , completed at the end of 2003, replaced the outdated overall systems, and at the same time it was renamed finnova AG Bankware, or Finnova for short.

In April 2015, Swisscom joined Finnova with a 9 percent stake. At the same time, the German software manufacturer and system integrator msg systems ag took over the majority of the shares.
