Firewater

Firewater is an American indie rock band that was founded in 1995 by singer and bassist Tod A. (Tod Ashley) after his previous band, Cop Shoot Cop , split up .

Firewater experiments with various musical influences, including mainly folk , jazz , ska , klezmer , cabaret and " gypsy music ". The original composition of the band consisted of Duane Denison ( the Jesus Lizard ), Yuval Gabay ( Soul Coughing ), Jennifer Charles ( Elysian Fields ) and Hahn Rowe ( Fetus ). After a while, however, it turned out that it was not possible to go on tour with this " line-up ". That's why Tod A. recruited other musicians for the band's first tour. In the course of the band's history, Tod A. remains the only constant at Firewater as singer / composer ( singer-songwriter ) and bassist, while the other positions in the band are always filled with new musicians.

With their third album Psychopharmacology (single release Get out of my head) Firewater appealed to a broader audience in North America and Europe for the first time and have been on tour in Europe since then.
