Fischlandhaus in Wustrow (Fischland)

The Fischlandhaus is a listed building in Neuen Straße 38 in the Baltic resort of Wustrow in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania on the Baltic Sea . It is one of the oldest houses in the community.

History and function of the building

The Fischlandhaus was built around 1800 as a Büdnerei  195. It is a typical high-floor house for the region with a half-hip roof on the gable side . The walls are made of half-timbered structures that are filled with clay. The roof is covered with cane . In 1987 the community took over the building and set up the community library there. A comprehensive renovation took place in 2010. The building was expanded to include a meeting room with funds from the urban development subsidy of the state of Mecklenburg and the municipality of Wustrow for around 75,000 euros. In addition to being used as a library, there are changing exhibitions and readings.
