Fisher-Price is a US manufacturer of baby and toddler toys and since 1993 has been a subsidiary of Mattel , based in East Aurora , New York .
history
Fisher-Price was founded in 1930 by Herman Fisher, Irving Price and Helen Schelle.
Dr. Doodle , a pull-along toy, was the first guided toy in 1931 and is still available today. Production of the Little People toys began in the 1960s . Herman Fisher retired in 1969 at the age of 71, and Fisher-Price was acquired by the Quaker Oats Company that year .
In 1991, Fisher-Price regained independence from the Quaker Oats Company and became a public company. In November 1993, Fisher-Price became a subsidiary of Mattel. In 1997 Mattel decided to market all preschool products as Fisher-Price.
Products
Fisher-Price has designed over 5,000 different toys since the early 1930s. The best known include Power Wheels , View-Master , Activity Center , Rescue Heroes , Little People , the chatterbox and the color ring pyramids . In addition to be Manhattan among other Disney - Sesame Street - Barney - Winnie-the-Pooh - and Dora -Figuren as Fisher-Price Friends developed and marketed.
