The Fjäll cattle , also called the Swedish mountain cow (Swedish: Fjällko ), is an old domestic cattle breed from Northern Sweden .

The breed originally existed as early as the Viking Age and was increasingly bred towards the end of the 19th century. Since the 19th century, great emphasis has been placed on pure white and hornless cattle. The ears as well as the area around the eyes and muzzle are pigmented black.

The height at the withers is 128 centimeters for bulls and 120 centimeters for cows. Adult bulls weigh around 600 kilograms, cows around 430 kilograms. The breed is mainly used for milk production, the output is around 5,500 kilograms of milk per year.

In 2006 the population was around 1,500 bulls and 3,700 cows. A sizeable population is also kept at the Spukloch near the Müritz for the purpose of landscape maintenance.
