The flag of Silesia and Lower Silesia is a bicolor made up of the colors silver and gold.

The national flag consists of two horizontal stripes. The colors of the flag refer to the coat of arms of Silesia , whereby the background color gold is at the bottom according to the rules of heraldry.

Traditionally, the flag of Silesia is also the flag of Lower Silesia, while Upper Silesia has its own flag .

The national colors were used together with the coat of arms of the Province of Silesia as the national service flag of the Province of Silesia (1882 to 1918) and with the coat of arms of the Province of Lower Silesia as the state service flag of the Province of Lower Silesia (1920 to 1935), which existed from 1919 to 1938 and from 1941 to 1945 .

Paragraph 4 in Article 2 of the Constitution of the Free State of Saxony guarantees the Silesian or Lower Silesian flag the equal leadership in the Silesian part of the state alongside the Saxon state flag :
