Flanchis

Flanchis is a French term used in heraldry to describe small St. Andrew's crosses with very narrow arms and which is also common in Dutch heraldry. Is known the so-called Andrew's cross in the crest of Amsterdam , in the three crosses pale example are disposed. Also in the coat of arms and the flag of Breda and Bergen op Zoom , the crosses are kept quite narrow. The coat of arms of Bergen op Zoom shows two wild men and a three-mountain as a shield holder . The municipality of Amstelveen not only has Flanchis in its coat of arms, but also in its flag.
