Flavius Anthemius Isidorus

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Flavius Anthemius Isidorus (* in the 4th or 5th century in Alexandria ; † in the 5th century ) was a late Roman statesman who was consul in AD 436 .

Flavius Anthemius Isidorus comes from Alexandria according to an inscription from Ephesus. According to this inscription, he dressed the consulate in front of his prefecture , which is probably wrong. In the literature, however, the following career path can be proven: As praefectus praetorio illyrici it is recorded on April 22nd and October 10th, 424. Later he was praefectus praetorio Orientis (detectable from January 19, 435 to August 4, 436). Simultaneously with this prefecture he held the consulate in 436 AD. He died before the year 447.
