The Neukölln Arcaden are a shopping center in Berlin-Neukölln directly at the Rathaus Neukölln underground station . It has a retail area of 37,500 m², on which around 50 shops are located. history

The construction of a shopping center under the name Forum Neukölln on the current site was planned as early as the early 1990s ; according to the mayor at the time, Heinz Buschkowsky , 40 percent of the area in the forum should be used for cultural activities in addition to the shops. After the original investor resigned due to the sharp rise in land prices , the KapHag group of companies was awarded the contract. The building complex was designed by the architects Boge and Johannsen BdA . The opening took place on September 2, 2000.

Since the Forum Neukölln was not financially viable, it was sold in 2002 to the new operator mfi AG , which has since been renamed Unibail-Rodamco Germany , whereupon it was renamed Neukölln Arcaden . After a five-month renovation period, the new opening took place on October 30, 2003. The catchment area of the center is given as 340,000 inhabitants, whereby the Neukölln city library alone has 1250 daily visitors.
