Meat mill (Leonberg)

The meat mill

The meat mill is a grain mill on the Glems in the Leonberg district of Höfingen .

In 1526 the mill was in the hands of Hans von Nippenburg from Schöckingen . Obertonmühle was the original name of this mill. After the mill was owned by the "Fleischmartins Widow" in 1550 , it was renamed the Fleischmühle. One of the previous owners received interest from the mill for Christmas. If he did not get it in time, it would send his servant to the mill. He should then find the money in a bowl above the door and the chickens under the bank. Otherwise the servant had the right to break out the mill iron and take it away. The meat mill burned down in 1896 and was rebuilt.

The historic mill and the mill canal have been completely preserved to this day. In the meat mill, the flour is still ground according to old tradition. The mill is also used to hold events.
