history
The place was first mentioned in a document as Hoefingen in 1100 .
The place belonged to the office since 1624, later to the Oberamt Leonberg and from 1938 to the district of Leonberg. Höfingen was incorporated into the city of Leonberg on January 1, 1975.

Up until the Reformation , the Höfingen parish belonged to the Land Chapter Grüningen in the Archdiakonat Trinity of the Diocese of Speyer .
Since January 1, 2019, the Protestant parish has formed the Evangelical parish Gebersheim-Höfingen with that of the neighboring town of Gebersheim . Services take place in Höfingen in the Laurentiuskirche, in Gebersheim in the Resurrection Church.

Cultural monuments
Höfingen has a parish church, the Protestant Laurentiuskirche, which is in parts Romanesque or Gothic . The choir bears the year 1407. The 45 meter high west tower essentially dates from the 18th century and has a tent roof . The nave was demolished and rebuilt in 1931; With this measure, parts of the choir collapsed. The forest festival of the Höfingen music association takes place on the last weekend in June . The festival at Höfinger Waldeck has been celebrated since 1926, making it the oldest Höfinger festival.
