Höfingen is a district of Leonberg in the Boeblingen district in Baden-Württemberg .

Höfingen is located in the Strohgäu on the Glems .
history
The place was first mentioned in a document as Hoefingen in 1100 .
The place belonged to the office since 1624, later to the Oberamt Leonberg and from 1938 to the district of Leonberg. Höfingen was incorporated into the city of Leonberg on January 1, 1975.
religion
Up until the Reformation , the Höfingen parish belonged to the Land Chapter Grüningen in the Archdiakonat Trinity of the Diocese of Speyer .
Since January 1, 2019, the Protestant parish has formed the Evangelical parish Gebersheim-Höfingen with that of the neighboring town of Gebersheim . Services take place in Höfingen in the Laurentiuskirche, in Gebersheim in the Resurrection Church.

Culture and sights
Cultural monuments
Höfingen has a parish church, the Protestant Laurentiuskirche, which is in parts Romanesque or Gothic . The choir bears the year 1407. The 45 meter high west tower essentially dates from the 18th century and has a tent roof . The nave was demolished and rebuilt in 1931; With this measure, parts of the choir collapsed. The church was consecrated to Lawrence of Rome . The church got two new bells in 1698, one of which still exists. It was cast with another sister who hangs with two other bells in Hemmingen in the Laurentius Church of the same name. The Höfinger church has a total of four bells.
St. Michael is the Roman Catholic Church in Höfingen; it has no steeple.
Regular events
The forest festival of the Höfingen music association takes place on the last weekend in June . The festival at Höfinger Waldeck has been celebrated since 1926, making it the oldest Höfinger festival. The forest festival traditionally begins with a march by the music association through Höfingen and attracts over a thousand visitors every year.
