Flemsdorf is a part of the community of Schöneberg in the Uckermark district in Brandenburg .

It is located between Angermünde and Schwedt , about 9 kilometers from Schwedt.

history

Traces of settlement have been known in the area since the Stone Age. The village was laid out as a street village in the 13th century, probably by Flemish settlers. The earliest mention of Vlemindorp is from 1293 . Since the 15th century the place belonged continuously to Brandenburg. There was a manor. In the 19th century there was a brown coal mine near the place.

After 1945 a state-owned estate (VEG) was founded. From 1961 to around 1965 there was a youth work yard in the dormitory.
