Flow material is a term used in freight transport . This is a good that does not have a fixed, geometrically defined shape.

This includes bulk goods such as gravel , sand and grit , liquids and gases . Bulky goods must be transported in a container that is at most open at the top (e.g. in a trough ). Silo vehicles are required for flowing goods (bulk goods) which are also sensitive to moisture ( grain , cement , etc.) .

All liquid flowing goods, such as mineral oil , gas, chemicals , etc. must be transported in tanks (e.g. tank trucks ), whereby additional provisions according to ADR apply here. So are z. For example, all types of gas and all liquid chemicals can only be transported in so-called round tanks, whereas mineral oils can also be transported in other tank shapes (mostly oval).
