A Absetzmulde (also Absetzcontainer ), colloquially dump or rubbish dump called, is a container for transporting coarse bulk material such as building rubble , topsoil , gravel u. Common types of waste that can be transported away in containers are, for example, construction site waste, bulky waste and cardboard boxes. Most of these varieties have a significantly lower density than rubble or earth.

This is mainly used in waste disposal or in the construction industry, as well as for commercial waste and in the private sector for clearing out and for collecting green waste

There are troughs in sizes of 1 m³, so-called mini troughs. The standard size is 7 m³. Roll-off containers can have a volume of up to 40 m³. Containers are standardized in their dimensions and designs in DIN 30720.

The advantage of a skip over a dump truck is that the skip can be parked and filled for a long time and the truck can be used for other purposes. In addition, the pouring edge for filling the skip is lower.

Compared to the usually larger volume, roller container has the advantage Absetzmulde be parked on unpaved surfaces to. Although they are a domain of truck logistics and local transport, they are also often used in construction trains for Deutsche Bahn .

term

In Switzerland, uniform terms for the various types of troughs have become established. A distinction is made between town hollow, gate hollow, flat hollow, mud hollow, all-purpose hollow or bulky goods hollow.

Types and nominal volume

Stadtmulde (form SD)

There are three standardized forms:

asymmetrical, open (A)
has a deeply cut-out side with a pouring edge and is usually only loaded from one side. There are type A troughs with a nominal volume of 5.5 m³, 7 m³, 10 m³ and 15 m³
symmetrical, open (S)
can be loaded from both sides with two bulk ridges. The nominal volume is between 5 m³, 7.5 m³, 10 m³ and 20 m³
symmetrical, with lids (SD)
also called Stadtmulde , can also be loaded from both sides, but has a lid. Due to stricter environmental laws , urban troughs (lid troughs) are being used more and more frequently in the construction and recycling industries. The lid prevents rainwater from washing out substances from the waste. The troughs are also protected against the vandalizing distribution of rubbish, avoidance of contamination by passers-by or drift. Containers with a lid can be locked with a padlock. They are available in different sizes and designs. The lids are made of aluminum with rubber hinges, of spring-loaded steel or, more recently, of plastic. The symmetrical skip with cover is available in the nominal sizes: 5.5 m³, 7 m³, 10 m³

In addition to the standardized shapes, there are also special formats with a low pouring edge for easier loading and also very small skips with 1.8 m³. Small skips can be transported on special car trailers with ball coupling . Other special forms are cranable skips or skips with very low edges.

use

Skip loader vehicle with loaded skip

Skip skips are usually transported with a skip loader vehicle . In addition to its loading area, the skip loader has two arms that can be folded back and extended, with the skip for transport between them. To set it down, two chains are attached to the hanger pins of the trough on both sides and the setting arms lift the trough over the rear behind the vehicle.

The bulk material in the trough can also be tipped off by the skip loader vehicle. To do this, the arms are extended over the rear as when setting down, but the trough is held in place with a hook at the rear of the loading area in the middle of the vehicle and the trough is tipped backwards.

The trough can not only be placed directly behind the vehicle, but can also be rotated by extending the depositing arms in different ways to make the trough z. B. to put in a parking space.
