Jesau Air Base
The airbase Jesau was an air base of the Air Force of the Armed Forces near the East Prussian Jesau .
history
The air base was established in 1937. In the north of the air base, two large and two medium hangars and a repair hangar were connected. Further farm and accommodation buildings were located here. Another large hangar was located 600 meters north of the runway. The I./JG 131 was stationed here as the first airborne unit from April 1937 .
The airfield Gerdauen was used port for the air base.

In the last week of January 1945, Soviet troops occupied the area of the air base. Since 1945, Jesau, renamed Juschny ( Russian Южный ) in 1950 , belongs to the Russian Kaliningrad Oblast .
