The tiled area is a tiled wall area .

In the sanitary area (e.g. in the bathroom or the toilet ) it is placed over free-hanging washbasins and protects the wall from splashing water.

In kitchens it is located above the work surface and is therefore also known as the “kitchen mirror” . Due to the kitchen furniture, its height is usually 50 to 60 cm. It protects the wall behind it mechanically and also makes it easier to remove z. B. Splashes of fat that occur during cooking. Once only tiles were used, today's alternatives are glass , stainless steel and laminate .
