Flipper is the name of a type of amusement ride that has been operated by HUSS Maschinenfabrik GmbH & Co.KG. since 1987. (now Huss Rides ) from Bremen, both in a stationary and in a transportable version. Rides of this type sometimes travel under other names, for example playball or tornado .

construction

On the outer edge of a 14 meter carousel disc, 12 hemispherical gondolas are mounted in a circle on an inclined axis. Each gondola contains 2 seat hollows, in which either two adults or three children can originally be seated. The carousel disc is variable in speed and can be tilted up to 50 degrees. For safety reasons, since 2005 the gondolas of all pinball systems had to be retrofitted with so-called seat humps. It is forbidden for children under eight years of age to ride, the minimum height is 1.50 meters.

Driving style

Rotation, oscillation and constant lifting processes from the inclined gondola axles cause very different accelerations and decelerations, which creates an extremely attractive and fast-paced, but definitely pleasant carousel ride for the whole family.
