Flirtlife.de was founded in July 2001 and is operated by the Seligenstadt- based Flirtlife.de GmbH .

Male users are charged a monthly fee of at least € 1.99 for unlimited mail activities . In addition, comfort options for using the website can be booked for an additional fee, which is named as a premium or power user.

The requirement for membership at Flirtlife.de is a minimum age of 16 years.

Users also have the free option of uploading their ID card copy or presenting it at so-called Flirtlife Points or Flirtlife events to receive an authenticity certificate in the form of a "green tick" in the user profile.

Flirtlife also includes the channel Flirtlife.tv broadcast via the Astra satellite , on which the user profile can be published after approval by the user. At night, the erotic channel Visit-X can be seen at this frequency . The broadcast of Flirtlife.tv has meanwhile been stopped.

Flirtlife.de attracted more attention after a list of access data for around 100,000 users on the Internet appeared in May 2006 . All passwords were changed as a result, but it can be assumed that a large number of email accounts for free mailers were also compromised when the passwords became known.
