Florian Schönbeck
Florian Schönbeck (born January 13, 1974 in Munich ) is a former German decathlete .
He became the German Junior Champion in 1996. In the adult field, he was on the winners podium for the first time in 1998 when he reached third place. In the same year he came in the European Cup in Tallinn on the fourteenth place. In 2000 Schönbeck won the German championship in Wesel with a personal best of 8,127 points.
In 2002 he won the European Cup in Bydgoszcz with Stefan Schmid and Mike Maczey and took fourth place in the individual ranking. In addition, this year he became German champion for the second time and vice-champion in 2003. In the following year he reached second place at the Ratingen all- around meeting with 8044 points and qualified for the Olympic Games in Athens, where he finished twelfth with 8077 points. In 2005 Schönbeck, who started for the LG Domspitzmilch Regensburg , ended his career.
