Florida ( floˈɾiða ) is a city with 71,854 inhabitants (2012 census) in the Cuban province of Camagüey . The place name is derived from the sugar mill of the same name in the village. In terms of tourism , the Hotel Florida with 74 rooms is of particular interest as an overnight stopover for travelers on the Carretera Central . Florida has a train station on the Havana - Santiago de Cuba railway line .
