history

FlaRakKdo 4 was created from FlaRakRgt 2 after the reorganization of defense capacities and weapons systems on April 1, 1987. The subordinate FlaRakBtl 23 , which previously served the Nike Hercules and MIM-23 HAWK weapon systems , was subsequently equipped with the MIM-104 Patriot air defense system. Furthermore, the anti-aircraft missile squadron 21 in Möhnesee , the anti-aircraft missile squadron 38 in Heide / Holstein and the anti-aircraft missile group 42 in Schöneck were placed under the command.

The Lich site was given up by the German Armed Forces in 1993 . At this time, anti-aircraft missile groups 21, 38 and 42 were under command. On January 1, 1993, the command was renamed Air Defense Missile Squadron 4 and at the end of 1993 it was relocated to the Siegerland barracks in Burbach. On July 1, 2002, the anti-aircraft missile group 25 was placed under. In 2003 the anti-aircraft missile squadron 4 was disbanded.
