The Tiska Airport ( Aéroport de Djanet Tiska , IATA code DJG , ICAO code DAAJ ) is an airport and air base in Algeria .
It is located 33 km south of the oasis town of Djanet , the capital of the province of the same name in the extreme southeast of Algeria in the Sahara on the border of Libya and Niger and has two runways, RWY 13/31 3000 meters and RWY 02/20 with 2400 Meter. The airport was named after the name of the Tiska mountain , which is located about 50 km south of the airport and has an altitude of 1553 meters.
Air Algérie flies regularly to Algiers , Tamanrasset and Ouargla .
The airport is managed by the EGSA.
Incidents
- On May 2, 1976 was Convair CV-640 of Air Algérie ( air vehicle registration 7T-VAH ) damaged at the airport Djanet Inedbirene irreparable. Further details are not known. People were not harmed.
