The Iejima airport ( Jap. 伊江島空港 , Iejima-KUKO ) is a small commercial airport of the village Ie in Japan . The airport is located about 3 kilometers west of the center of Ie in the middle of the island of Ie in Okinawa Prefecture . From here there are currently (2009) only domestic connections. Iejima Airport is a 3rd class airport under Japanese law . The airport runway was part of an air force base during World War II .
