The Khon Kaen Airport ( Thai : ท่าอากาศยาน ขอนแก่น ; IATA code : KKC, ICAO code : VTUK) is a national airport on the northwestern outskirts of Khon Kaen , capital of the eponymous Thai province . It consists of a terminal with a passenger boarding bridge and a multi-storey car park.

General

The new three-story Terminal 2 opened in 2005. In addition to several small shops and car rental counters, it contains a restaurant on the top floor.

There are parking spaces for two aircraft the size of a Boeing 737-400 or Airbus A300-600 . The airport has an asphalt runway with a length of 3050 meters (runway heading: 03/21) at a height of 204  m .

In 2015, 1.28 million passengers were handled. The number of passengers more than tripled between 2011 and 2015.

Destinations

Four Thai airlines offer domestic connections, most of them with Bangkok-Don Mueang . There are currently no international destinations served from Khon Kaen.
