Thailand Route 12 ( Thai : ทางหลวง แผ่นดิน หมายเลข 12 - Thang Luang Phaen Din Mai Lek 12 , German: National Road No. 12; in English usage: Highway 12, original name: Thanon Charot Withi Thong , ถนน จรด วิถี ถ่อง ) is an expressway in Thailand . It is part of the east-west economic corridor defined by the Asian Development Bank as part of the Greater Mekong Subregion Economic Forum, which runs from Myanmar via Thailand and Laos to the Vietnamese coast.

Course of the road

The Thailand Route 12 is an important west-east connection in the northern region of Thailand and is part of the Asian Highway AH16. It begins in Tak City , at the intersection of Thanon Phahonyothin and National Road 1107. It then heads east to Sukhothai Province . There it leads through the middle of the Sukhothai Historical Park to the old town of Sukhothai , from where it goes southeast to the Phitsanulok Province . In Phitsanulok it shares with the National Road 11 the road until Wang Thong and continues east toward the southeast to the district of Nakhon Thai District , where she in switchbacks on the Phetchabun Mountains across to the district Khao Kho District of Phetchabun province goes. In the northeast of Phetchabun Province, it then has to overcome the Dong Phaya Yen mountain range until it ends in the city of Khon Kaen for a short distance through Chaiyaphum Province and through the west of Khon Kaen Province . In the center of Khon Kaen it flows into the Thanon Mittraphap .
