The Kota Belud Airport (engl. Kota Belud Airport , IATA code : not forgive ICAO code : WBKB) is an airfield near the town of Kota Belud , in the Malaysian state of Sabah on the island of Borneo .
Furnishing
The airfield consists of a grass runway 1371 meters long. It can only be approached by small planes. Public air traffic does not take place. The airfield is owned by the Malaysian Air Force and is under the administration of the neighboring Paradise Army Camp .
Incidents
On May 1, 1961, the pilot broke one of the HMS Bulwark operating out helicopter type Westland Whirlwind has 7 ( air vehicle registration XN260 ) but the landing at Kota Belud from, could not prevent more that his machine was in the surrounding trees broken. Three people injured were rescued from the helicopter operated by the Royal Navy's Fleet Air Arm . Usable parts of the wreck were removed, after which the helicopter was blown up.

Remarks
- ↑ The HMS Bulwark (R08) was a light aircraft carrier of the Centaur class with 22,000 ts. It was launched in 1948, was used during the Suez Crisis, was decommissioned in 1981 and scrapped in 1984.
