Oksibil Airport ( Indonesian Bandar Udara Oksibil ) is a small national airport in the east of the Indonesian province of Papua . The airport is located around 500 meters south of the center of Oksibil , the district capital of the Pegunungan Bintang district , and is connected to the provincial capital Jayapura in the north by flights from the national airline Trigana Air Service . It is served by regional airliners of the size Dash 7 or ATR 42 and is classified with the ICAO Annex 14 airport reference code 3C.
The airfield has an asphalt runway 1350 meters long and 30 meters wide in a west-north-west-east-south-east direction, as well as two asphalt aprons (150 m × 70 m and 50 m × 40 m).
Incidents
- On August 2, 2009 collided DHC-6 of Merpati Nusantara Airlines on the flight 9760D from Jayapura to Oksibil in 2834 meters of altitude with a mountain.
- On August 16, 2015, an ATR 42-300 from Trigana Air Service collided with a mountain on flight 257 from Jayapura to Oksibil at an altitude of 2,530 meters.
