The Ilan and Assaf Ramon International Airport Eilat Airport ( Hebrew : נמל התעופה רמון, Arabic : مطار رمون) ( IATA : ETM, ICAO : CREATOR) is a 2019 put into operation international airport in Eilat , Israel .

history

The new airport Ilan and Assaf Ramon International Airport Eilat, also called Ramon Airport , replaced the old J. Hozman airport . It was built at Timna in the Arava Valley. The new airport, which was built for the equivalent of around 400 million euros, was officially opened on January 21, 2019, and the first international flight movements have been carried out since March 2019.

Due to extensive security measures, it should be the best secured airport in the country. The plan assumes up to two million handled passengers per year.

With the opening of Ramon Airport, the civil part of Eilat-Ovda Airport (IATA code VDA), which served charter flights from Europe, was also closed.

The airport is surrounded by a 25 m high fence.
