The Tottori Airport ( Jap. 鳥取空港 , Tottori Kuko ) is a small commercial airport in the city of Tottori in Japan . The airport Tottori applies to the Japanese legislation as airport 3rd class . Only destinations within Japan are served. The airport is located in the urban area of ​​Tottori directly on the coast northwest of the city center.

history

The airport opened in 1967. Just 5 years later, the runway was expanded from 1,200 meters to 1,500 meters. In 1985 there was a further extension to 1,800 meters. In 1990 the last extension to the current 2,000 meters took place, for which the sea had to be heaped up a little.
