The Tottori Airport ( Jap. 鳥取空港 , Tottori Kuko ) is a small commercial airport in the city of Tottori in Japan . The airport Tottori applies to the Japanese legislation as airport 3rd class . Only destinations within Japan are served. The airport is located in the urban area of Tottori directly on the coast northwest of the city center.
history
The airport opened in 1967. Just 5 years later, the runway was expanded from 1,200 meters to 1,500 meters. In 1985 there was a further extension to 1,800 meters. In 1990 the last extension to the current 2,000 meters took place, for which the sea had to be heaped up a little.
