The Lupepau'u Airport ( IATA code : VAV , ICAO code : NFTV ) is an international airport on the island group Vava'u that the Kingdom of Tonga belongs. It is located about seven kilometers outside the city of Neiafu . The airport is closed on Sundays.

Vavaʻu is one of the central tourist regions of Tonga with the surrounding islands, which is connected to the international airport Fuaʻamotu on Tongatapu via the airport Vavaʻu . The flight time is about 50 minutes.

Destinations

The airport is served by the national airline Real Tonga , which offers connections to Tongatapu several times a day. In addition, Haʻapai , Niuafoʻou and Niuatoputapu are served with significantly lower frequencies (as of 2016).
