The airport al-Ubayyid ( English El Obeid Airport ) is a commercial airport in the city of al-Ubayyid in Sudan .
history
In the 1970s and 1980s, al-Ubayyid Airport was a major destination for the United Nations World Food Program's supply flights from Lokichoggio ( Kenya ) to combat the famine in the Sahel in the Sudan area.
