The Freistadt Airport is a private and uncontrolled airfield in the municipality of hirschbach im mühlkreis long with a 595 meter (with security strip) grass track, which extends in an east-west direction (11/29). It is located about 7 kilometers west of the district capital Freistadt . The ICAO code is LOLF and the radio frequency is 122.330 MHz. The airfield is approved up to a take-off weight of 2000 kg and parachute and motorized aviation are practiced.

history

The airfield was built in 1962 by Johann Pum and has belonged to the Freistadt Fliegerclub (FCF) for several years. The Fliegerclub Freistadt currently has 4 aircraft, 2 Cessna and 2 Tecnam , which are stationed at the airfield. The flying club also operates a flight school at the airfield, which offers training to become a private pilot.

The Freistadt Army Parachute Jump Club (HFSC Freistadt) is also located at the Freistadt airfield and has a Cessna 206 with a turbine engine as a drop-off aircraft . In 2012 the club celebrated its 40th anniversary.

A few kilometers to the southwest is the Freistadt rotary radio beacon (VOR / DME FRE) ( Lage ) with a radio frequency of 113.500 MHz.
