Rakkestad Airport, Åstorp

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The airfield Rakkestad, Åstorp (Norwegian Rakkestad flyplass, Åstorp ) is a private airfield in the municipality of Rakkestad in Fylke Viken in Norway .

The airfield is located around four kilometers south of the center of the village of Rakkestad on Åstorp farm. The construction of the airfield goes back to the relocation of the workshop department of Norrønafly A / S , which moved in 1969 from Oslo Airport Fornebu to a more economically advantageous site in Rakkestad. For this purpose, it was essential to set up a separate runway and a 600-meter-long runway was first built to bring the aircraft in for maintenance work. In the meantime the runway has been paved and lengthened and since December 28, 1998 a private airfield with the ICAO code "ENRK" has been in existence, licensed by Luftfartsverket .

The airfield is the base of the Rakkestad Aviation Club and is used by private and business jets from the area as well as by Norrønafly A / S workshop customers. There are no scheduled services.
