LFV (company)

LFV (until December 31, 2006: Luftfartsverket ) is a state-owned air traffic control company in Sweden and has its headquarters in Norrköping . It was established in 1947 as a state authority. In 2005, a separation was made between the business and the administrative area, with the administrative area being relocated to the newly established Central Aviation Office , Luftfartsstyrelsen . On April 1, 2010, the operation of Sweden's 14 state airports, which was originally one of the core tasks of LFV, was spun off into the established company Swedavia . Swedavia is also state-owned.

Luftfartsverket is responsible for

  • air traffic control for civil and military air traffic in Sweden
  • and the training of air traffic controllers

LFV had approximately 3500 employees and a turnover of 5.7 billion SEK / ~ 630 million euros in 2005 . After restructuring in 2010, LFV has 1,400 employees and a turnover of 2 billion SEK (~ 200 million euros). The activities of the LFV are mainly financed by taxes.
