The Verona-Boscomantico airport is located a few kilometers northwest of the Italian city ​​of Verona .

The Verona-Boscomantico airport is located in the Valpòlicella area at the foot of the Alps , directly on the Adige . The A22 Brenner motorway and the SS12 Brenner State Road pass a few kilometers to the west . Both downtown Verona and Lake Garda can be reached quickly.

Infrastructure and use

The airfield has a runway (08/26) that is around one kilometer long and runs in an east-west direction and a parallel taxiway . In the north there is a relatively extensive apron , in the south there are two smaller aprons, maintenance halls and other smaller facilities. The airport is home to the Aero Club Verona and other air sports clubs . One of the most important civil flight schools in Italy is located here. The airfield is used for general aviation . Commercial air traffic is handled at Verona-Villafranca Airport, which is located around twelve kilometers southwest of the city.

history

The Verona-Boscomantico airfield was set up as a military airfield in 1916 and was used as such until the 1990s, especially by helicopters for army aviation . The main user today is the Verona Aeroclub, founded in 1928. A number of air shows have been held here over the years .
