Fluke (band)
Fluke is a British band .
Career
The band was originally formed in 1988 by Mike Bryant, Mike Tournier, Julian Nugent and Jonathan Fugler. Fluke started out with house and then moved on to other genres like trip-hop and big beat .
The band released their album Techno Rose of Blighty in 1991 , but they only received international recognition with their second album Six Wheels on My Wagon, including a few individually released singles. In addition, they provided movie soundtracks, for example the title Zion (also known as Slip It or in a new version as Another Kind of Blues on the album Puppy ) from the film Matrix Reloaded ; from Lara Croft: Tomb Raider the song Absurd , which was also used for a commercial; or Bullet in Face . They also provided some titles for the anime film The Animatrix . Many have only known the band since the game Wipeout 2097 , where the song Atom Bomb was heard.
Their album Oto , released in 1995, shows the transition of the band's sound to jazz and trip-hop. After the great success of the album Risotto , Mike Tournier left Fluke to found the band Syntax together with Jan Burton . Mike Bryant and Jonathan Fugler later founded the 2 Bit Pie project together with other musicians who mainly play house. They released two singles as well as the album 2Pie Islands .
