Flying Blue

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Flying Blue is the frequent flyer program of Air France-KLM .

Earn miles

A distinction is made between status and award miles:

  • Status miles are used to determine the frequent flyer status and are only valid in the current calendar year.
  • Award miles can be used for flight and material awards. They do not expire as long as a flight takes place at least every 24 months for which additional miles are credited.

Status miles can only be earned by flights with members of SkyTeam and selected partner airlines. B. can be credited to hotels, rental car companies, Travel Value and duty-free shops. However, when status miles are credited, the corresponding award miles are generally also credited.

The crediting of miles depends very much on the booking class. For example, more miles are generally credited in Business Class than in Economy, and here it can still vary between the individual tariffs. On flights with partner airlines, sometimes - depending on the booking class - no miles are credited at all.

The calculation is made in nautical miles as the direct distance between the airports flown.

Redeem miles

Various awards can be earned with the award miles.

Award flights are not “real” free flights, as taxes and fees (including kerosene surcharge ) have to be paid in addition to the corresponding award miles .
