The Fohlenhof Ebbs in the town of Ebbs in the district of Kufstein in Tyrol is a stud with a Museum of Haflinger Horse Breeders Association of Tyrol for the horse breed Haflinger .

history

In 1947, a Haflinger stallion rearing farm for around 25 young stallions from all 7 bloodlines was set up at Wagrain Castle in Ebbs. In the following years, part of the castle property was acquired and expanded to around 10 hectares. In the 1950s, the Hengstalm was purchased with approx. 30 hectares and the Hochalm with approx. 50 hectares was given a permanent lease. In the 1970s, a riding hall and a hotel building with the administrative center of the horse breeding association were built. In 1993, an arena with 3500 seats was built for the riding and driving center.

Haflinger Museum

Historical carriages and sleighs are exhibited in the museum. Some of the exhibits are from Jacob Lohner’s workshop in Vienna. Old support saddles, wooden sleds and carts are shown in various show programs. For example, old original riding saddles were used in the 1971 film The Forgotten Valley . In addition, the collection also includes old farm equipment such as plows, harrows and seeders that were driven by horses.

The museum has a collection of cups and prizes from breeding events.
