Folke Birgersson

Folke Birgersson (* 1164 in Uppsala ; † July 17, 1210 ) was Jarl (Prince) from 1208 to 1210 under the Swedish King Sverker II.

Birgersson was married to Ulfhild and died in the Battle of Gestilren in 1210 .

Folke was a son of Birger Brosa . Folke's son Sune married Sverker's daughter Helena Sverkersdotter .

Folke Birgersson is considered to be the namesake of the Folkung people .
