The Food Editors Club Germany eV (FEC) is the professional association of culinary journalists in Germany.

The FEC includes the most important journalists, freelance and editorial staff, writers and photographers who deal with cooking, eating and drinking, table culture, restaurant criticism and nutritional science. The FEC currently has 150 members.

history

The association emerged from a group of friends and colleagues from various specialist areas who had occasionally met in the post-war years to provide each other with reliable and neutral information in a press environment in which the topic of eating and drinking was still a minor matter . The circle of friends led to the founding of the Food Editors Club Germany in 1968. The first president was Arne Krüger from 1968 to 1979 . He was followed by Gisa v. 1979–1989. Barsewisch and Holger Hofmann, 1989–1993 Antje Blum, Bernd Neuner-Duttenhofer (1993–2001) and Peter Zöls (since 2001). Regional groups exist for Berlin, Northern Germany, Rhine-Main and Southern Germany.

social commitment

With the award of the FEC Prize, the Food Editors Club Germany supports personalities who stand up for people in need.

Meetings

The members meet once a year at different locations for their annual meeting, at which the annual general meeting also takes place. The regional media report lively about the annual meetings and the work of the food journalists. The regional groups organize information events in the region for their members several times a year.
