Arne Kruger

Arne Krüger (born April 23, 1929 in Seesen ; † October 20, 2010 in Wiesbaden ) was a German restaurateur , publisher and non-fiction author .

Life

Krüger designed cooking cards with a circulation in the millions and established Der Feinschmecker , the first magazine for gourmets . He regularly wrote a column for the weekly Stern magazine entitled “What is not in the cookbook”. He co-founded the Gastronomic Academy of Germany (GAD) and was an honorary member. Krüger also initiated Chefs International de Cuisine in Germany (Rastatter Kreis) and the Sommelier Union Germany. He was an honorary member of the Société des Cuisiniers de Paris and the Académie Culinaire de France. Krüger held a leading position for the magazine Die Küche from 1969 to 1977 and published it from 1970 to 1977 in his own Arne publishing house before he sold it to Jahreszeiten Verlag .

On the night of October 20, 2010, Arne Krüger died after a long and serious illness at the age of 81.
