Ahmet Telli (born December 2, 1946 in Eskipazar , Çankırı Province ) is a Turkish teacher and writer .

Life

Ahmet Telli attended the schools in Hasanoğlan and Pazarören. After studying to be a teacher, he worked in a primary school for four years. After graduating from Gazi Eğitim Enstitüsü (now Gazi Üniversitesi in Ankara ), he worked in various cities and provinces as a teacher of Turkish literature . After the military coup in 1980 he was arrested and his employment relationship ended. In the same year, he was convicted of violating Articles 141, 142 and 146 under the Turkish Penal Code . He was imprisoned for violating Section 142 for his article published on Cigerhun's poetry. He worked as a bookseller, publisher, was the director of various publishing houses and editors. In 1993 he returned to teaching after a court decision. His first poem was published in 1961. In 1972 his first publication won 2nd place in the Varlık Dergisi magazine's criticism award . In 1980 he received the Ömer Faruk Toprak Poetry Prize for his book Hüznün İsyan Olur together with Metin Altıok ; In 1982 he received the Yazko Şiir Özendirme Ödülü award for his book Saklı Kalan . After 1972, a particularly large number of articles and poems by Ahmet Telli were published in literary magazines. The magazine Türkiye Yazıları (March 1983, No .: 72) published some of his works.
