For You Blue ( English blues for you ) is a song by the British band The Beatles from 1970. It appeared on their last studio album Let It Be . The song was written by George Harrison .

George Harrison comments on the song as follows: " For You Blue is a simple twelve-bar song following all the normal twelve-bar principles except it's happy-go-lucky!" ('It's a simple twelve-bar song that follows all the usual twelve- bar principles, except that it sounds completely carefree. [...] that For You Blue is a blues in twelve bars that fulfills all the usual clichés of the genre, but happy and sounds carefree. ') The lyrics of the song are addressed to his then wife Pattie ; Here George Harrison explains the reason for his love: "because you're sweet and lovely" ('because you are sweet and lovely'). Originally, according to Harrison's manuscript, the title was For You Blues ; but the "s" has disappeared for some reason.

For You Blue was released on the album Let It Be in Germany on May 8, 1970. As the B-side of the single The Long and Winding Road it was released on July 26, 1970. In 1976, it also appeared on the compilation The Best of George Harrison .
