Forevermore is a single by the Dutch symphonic metal band Epica and Ruurd Woltring. It was released on September 21, 2012 on the Nuclear Blast label .

Emergence

Woltring explains the history of Forevermore: “When I wrote the song, it was still called Stairway to Heaven . Once I listened to a few songs by Van Canto ( Water, Fire, Heaven, Earth and Hearted ) and also Our Farewell by Within Temptation . Then I came up with the following idea: "Maybe I should combine the music of these songs with my own lyrics." The lyrics tell the story of a boy who meets an angel. She makes him feel that they belong together, even though their worlds are far apart, and with that she wants to take him to heaven. But a devil tries to pull the boy down into his world, but he doesn't succeed because of all the positive energy of the angels. "
