Format: B is a German tech house duo from Berlin.

Career

Franziskus Sell had already been active as a DJ in his hometown of Erfurt . While studying audio engineering at the SAE Institute in Berlin, he met Jakob Hildenbrand and teamed up with him. The Berlin had previously been producing electronic music and from 2005 they jointly published as Format: B . They made a name for themselves internationally and performed worldwide. In 2008 they released their debut album Steam Circuit on Highgrade Records and just a little later founded their own label called Formatik Records . Club hits like Gospel and Dog Tag followed, and in 2011 the second album Restless .

In 2014 the duo had another big club hit with Chunky . Barely a year later, the Ministry of Sound label re-released the song as a major release and made it to number 29 on the official British charts . Chunky contains samples from the song Function at the Junction by Shorty Long . It is one of Charlotte Roche's favorite songs .
