Forstcast.net is an information platform in the forest and forestry sector. The publishers are the Bavarian State Institute for Forests and Forestry (LWF) and the Center Wald-Forst-Holz Weihenstephan , funded by the Bavarian Forest Administration . The operators provide podcasts and video clips on the subject of forests on the website. The target group are forest practitioners and forest owners as well as the general public.
The platform is the only online source of information that regularly offers radio plays and films on forests and forestry. At the end of 2014, over 180 podcasts and videos were available.
history
On July 28, 2008, the first podcast entitled “Welcome” went online. After that, a new podcast was published every week, using the two tracks forest friends and forest experts. The podcasts, originally produced in the style of audio books ( monologues ), quickly developed into interviews .
In 2009 the podcasts received a new intro and outro . The number of new publications was limited to 24, twelve new podcasts each year for forest enthusiasts and forest experts.
In June 2011 the first video clip with the title “Young Stock Maintenance” went online. In addition to the podcasts, videos are now offered again and again.
In July 2011 the site was relaunched and has since been presented in a new look.
European Podcast Award
In 2011 the website www.forstcast.net took part in the European Podcast Award (EPA). Forstcast.net entered the race in the "Non-Profit" category and came in third there.
