The forester's house Stüdenbach is located south of Eppenbrunn in the Palatinate part of the Wasgau in the Eppenbrunn Forest, which is known as a hiking area . There are various ponds in the vicinity, such as the Spießweiher on the way from Eppenbrunn, directly at the forester's lodge the Sägweiher and in the Stüdenbachtal up the Stüdenwoog .

1734 is Stüdenbacherhof first mentioned when Jacob Kettering to the then existing Sägeweiher (which at this time Heydenwoog called) a sawn and painted Lohmühle built. In the remote and poor area, the property experienced frequent changes of ownership until it was bought by the Bavarian state in 1855. He had a property built in 1775 converted into a forestry department and the rest torn down. A distillery and an inn were set up in the remaining property .
