Fort Albert is the ruin of a Victorian fort in the north of the Channel Island of Alderney . It was built on the eastern headland of Brave Bay in the years 1856-1859.

Originally it was to be called Fort Touraille and was planned as a battery. But after the death of Prince Albert in 1861 the name was changed. It was equipped with 43 cannons and barracks for 424 men. In 1854 the Roselle Battery with seven cannons had already been completed on the same headland .

The fort was rebuilt around 1900: The number of cannons was reduced and two 6-inch BL naval guns were installed , which changed the appearance of the fort.

The military headquarters of the island of Alderney was housed in the fort and a regular army garrison was stationed there until 1929.
