Fort Grandes Rocques , also known as Grandes Rocques Battery , is a coastal fort near the village of Castel on the northwest coast of the Channel Island of Guernsey .
The fort was built around 1779 and was armed with three 24 pounder cannons. The associated powder magazine was some distance from the battery.
During World War II , when the Germans occupied the Channel Islands and made it part of their Atlantic Wall , Fort Grandes Rocques was also changed. Today it is a tourist attraction.
